Preparing for senior pictures can be an exciting and memorable experience. The day of is such a fun day but in all honesty, the days leading up to your senior pictures are important in order to be sure your pictures turn out perfectly! It’s important to take care of yourself ahead of time, trust me, you will be happy you took a few extra steps to be sure you are totally ready for your big day! Here are some things you can do to make sure you are ready! Choose your outfits ahead of timeOutfits are the first thing you should consider when preparing for you senior pictures. I have a whole blog about what outfit to choose and how to choose it. Give it a read and see what you think! In the end, You should select clothing that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Consider selecting outfits that represent your personal style and reflect your personality. Be sure you try these outfits on (with your shoes and accessories) ahead of the session. Then you can be sure you really like what you chose and be sure it all goes together perfectly. Ask a friend for their honest feedback or look at your outfits in a full length mirror. Just be sure you love what you’re wearing. If you don’t love it, it will show in your pictures! Get some sleepSleeping is by far the most important thing you can do for beautiful pictures. People who are not well rested don’t have that “glow.” They look tired, sluggish and dull. Sleep is so important and it keeps you feeling and looking your best. Don’t believe me? Take a picture of yourself after a full nights sleep and take a picture of yourself with only a couple hours of sleep. You’ll see a difference yourself. Plus, when you get your senior pictures done, it’s a full day. Hair, makeup, outfit changes, location changes… all of that can make for a really busy day. If you’re not well rested you will fatigue halfway through the day and it won’t be as fun of an experience. If you want pictures that are beautiful, you have to feel your best. Sleep is a great way to get you to look and feel your best. I would be sure to get enough sleep for the whole week ahead of your senior pictures it’s good for you and you’ll love the way your pictures turn out- you won’t regret it! Get your nails done earlyOf course you’ll want your nails done for your senior pictures! Nobody wants chipped nail paint in their senior pictures. I would be sure you get nails done at least a week before your session. You want your manicure set and painted on perfectly. Also, decide on your nail color based on your location and outfit choice. Bright pink neon nails are cute but if you’re wearing bright colors and patterns those pink nails may clash. If you are taking pictures in a field of flowers, brightly colored nails may be distracting. I would always opt for a neutral color that looks beautiful but doesn’t distract from your pictures. If you are someone who doesn’t usually paint your nails, you can still get a manicure without polish or you can do french tips. But be sure your cuticles are cleaned up and nails are trimmed. Can’t go get your nails done? No worries! There are plenty of at home manicure sets you can get and do at home. A quick nail buff and cuticle oil goes a long way. Nails are a small detail but you’ll be happy you took the time to get them done. do your researchLook around on Pinterest or even scroll through my website.
