Senior picture locations are always a big deal. Where you choose to take your pictures says a lot about you and what is important to you. Most people choose to take their senior pictures outside. Against a natural and beautiful landscape, in the flowers or against a beautiful tree. Senior pictures are known to be an outside event, but what if you’re not an outside person? What if you don’t want to romp in the water or skip in the field? If you are that person, there is no judgement here. There are times, being in the nicely air conditioned inside is much better than sweltering outside. Inside senior picture locations don’t get the credit they deserve in my mind and I want to be able highlight the beauty and uniqueness they bring. If you are the girl who does better inside, then this one is for you.

Control over the environment: By having senior pictures taken inside, you have more control over the lighting, background, and other environmental factors.When you are outside the sun does whatever the sun wants to do. Sometimes it is very bright and other times it’s dimmed behind the clouds. The lighting can be so erratic outside that it makes pictures tricky, beautiful but tricky. Inside we can control the lighting really well. I know how much extra lighting is needed to brighten the space or I can play with angles to block too much light. There is a lot of strategies to use when inside that make pictures turn out remarkably!  ​

2. Weather conditions: Living in Colorado, you know we live in an area with unpredictable or harsh weather conditions. Having your senior pictures taken inside can be a practical option to avoid potential issues with rain, wind, or extreme temperatures. We can do a lot with the weather if you choose to be outside but for some of you, just avoiding the stress of unpredictable weather is what you are mainly wanting. When you’re inside, it can obviously be pouring rain outside and we can still take your senior pictures the exact way you want them taken. I like indoor pictures during the summer as well. It’s usually so hot outside during the summer that sweat is a thing that happens. Inside, there is nothing to worry about. Air conditioning is is a wonderful thing for hair and makeup 😉

3. Unique and creative options: Indoor settings can provide unique and creative options for senior pictures, such as using interesting architecture, furniture, or props. This can help your pictures stand out from the rest and showcase your personality in a different way than outdoor pictures might. It’s difficult to bring a beautiful couch out to a field of flowers and it’s difficult to bring fun lights to a golf course. All of these fun items can be used at an indoor location and the outcome is always beautiful!
