Choosing a location for your senior picture can be a fun and exciting experience, but it can also be overwhelming if you don't know where to start. There are so many locations that you can choose from in Colorado and all of them are stunning. It’s best to always choose one that really speaks to you and that you feel confident in. At Sarah Lindsay Photography I have a list of venues I use for senior pictures depending on if you’re a VIP senior of if you have the standard picture package. While you’re scrolling through the different locations for the different packages, let me give you some other tips on how to choose your perfect senior picture location.
  1. Consider your personality: Think about what locations best reflect your personality and style. If you're an outdoorsy person, consider taking your photos in a park or natural setting. If you're more of a city person, consider taking your photos in an urban location with interesting architecture and landmarks. Even if you’re more of an inside person, there are plenty of locations with gorgeous and perfect scenes for photos that are inside. Sometimes, being inside gives us more opportunity to play with interesting lighting  and props. Be sure you choose a location that specifically resonates with you.
  2. Think about your interests: Consider incorporating your hobbies and interests into your senior pictures. If you're into sports, take your photos on a sports field or court. If you're into music, consider taking your photos at a music venue or with your instrument. Love your pets? Bring them along but be sure the location is pet friendly. That usually means you’ll need to be outside. Bring along the things that are important to you, it will make the location more meaningful and will help make the day more memorable.
  3. Consult with your photographer: I have photographed so many seniors at a variety of locations. If you’re having a hard time deciding on one, reach out and let’s work it out together. Maybe you have an idea in mind but after talking with me you’ll have a different idea. Maybe you have never heard of certain locations but after consulting about location, you’ll be really excited about location ideas that you haven't thought of. Even if you have a dream of what you want your senior pictures to look like but don’t know how to execute that dream, I can help you be sure you choose the exact location you had in mind so that your pictures turn out just like you want them to. No matter what, I can help you find the location you truly want. So be sure you reach out when you need to- I’m always here for you!
  4. Consider the season, weather and drive time: Keep in mind the time of year and weather conditions when choosing your location. If you want your pictures to have a specific look, such as fall colors or snow, make sure to plan accordingly. But also be sure you think about the drive. If you want mountain pictures but you will have to drive an hour to the location, you wont have as much time actually taking pictures. Be sure you really map out where you want to go and decide  from there. If your dream location is really far, maybe ask around and see if you can find a location that is closer and similar to what you were thinking. Be sure you check the weather ahead of time as well. Rainy days can turn out well in pictures but if it’s not what you want, be sure you schedule on days that are good weather. You can’t always control the weather but we can do our best to look ahead at the weather predictions.

I know choosing a location for your senior pictures can be overwhelming and it might seem like there are a million choices. There are a million locations out there but there is one perfect one for you and all it takes is a little research and introspection as to what you want and don’t. Overall, the location you choose for your senior pictures should reflect who you are and be a place that you feel comfortable in. The location should be a place that is not only beautiful but beautiful and special to you.  Don't be afraid to reach out and ask for help if you need it! Can’t wait to take your senior pictures and help you make memories you will cherish forever!
