As a senior in high school, one of the most exciting moments is getting your senior pictures taken. These pictures are not just any ordinary photos; they capture the essence of who you are and serve as a lasting memory of your high school experience. However, coming up with senior picture ideas can be a daunting task. To help you out, here are some creative ideas to make your senior pictures stand out. Location, location, locationChoose a location that reflects your personality and interests. Whether it's a favorite park, a local coffee shop, or a bookstore, your location can add an extra layer of meaning to your photos. Be sure you really feel comfortable in the location you choose! Your photos won’t turn out the way you are expecting if you aren’t comfortable. Are you someone who loves the mountains and comfortable outside? Then be sure you embrace that aspect of yourself and find a location that incorporates the great outdoors. Are you someone who would rather be indoors? Don’t be ashamed of that and find a location that you love that also happens to be inside. I have taken stunning pictures of seniors that only wanted inside pictures- trust me, it’s better to have pictures in a location you’re comfortable in than a location you think you should have. hobbiesSo many seniors are really active in hobbies outside of school. Whether it’s athletics, music, theatre, art or you just love to read, hobbies are a part of everyone’s life. When you take your senior pictures, it’s great to show off all your accomplishments. If you're an athlete, consider taking photos in your uniform or with your equipment. If you're into music, take pictures with your instrument. You can even bring along props that reflect your interests, such as books or art supplies. Whatever your hobby is, let’s put it center stage and be sure you document your achievements forever. bring a friendTaking pictures with a friend or two can be a fun way to capture your friendship and make memories together.I also love sibling pictures or cat/dog pictures. Having people in your life that are important to you makes your pictures special and it makes the day so memorable. My favorite is when seniors bring their furry friends. Photographing your pets with you in your senior pictures helps keep your fur babies memorialized forever, plus it’s adorable to see you snuggling up with your cat/dog during the day. If you bring a friend, it’s always fun to try taking action shots of you and your friends doing something you love, like playing a sport or hiking. I think action shots like that keeps the energy of the photoshoot calm, natural and authentic. play with propsProps can add a fun and unique element to your photos. Try incorporating balloons, confetti, or even your pet into your pictures for an extra special touch. Think ahead as well and maybe you’ll want to have pictures of you in your cap and gown. I love those pictures because not only do they make perfect pictures to put in your thank you cards but you’ll remember graduation forever. I also love when seniors bring family pieces that are meaningful to them. Rings, necklaces, pictures, anything that is something special to you and your family are always fun to have in your senior pictures. Be sure you think ahead of what is important to you then bring it along! I love unique Senior pictures and want to help you get the pictures you want to have forever. dress to impressYour outfit can make a big impact on your photos. Colors, prints, textures and shoes are all important aspects of your outfit that you should think about. Be sure your colors don’t clash with your location backgrounds but you also want something that is bold and stands out. Consider wearing something that makes you feel confident and comfortable. If you’re the type of girl who loves wearing an sundress, then go for it! Dresses are not required though. I’m always a fan of jeans, sweater and tennis shoes. Be sure you wear something you love, shows off your personality and is also beautiful. In the end, whatever you wear will be absolutely perfect because you wore it with confidence! Embrace the season Take advantage of the time of year to incorporate seasonal elements into your photos. If you are taking your senior pictures in the spring, be sure to get out in the flowers. If the day happens to be a little rainy, let’s have some fun with umbrellas and dance in the rain. If you’re taking pictures in dead of summer and there is water nearby, let’s play in the water and also cool off. Whatever season you’re in, use the weather and natural surroundings to your advantage! All senior pictures are important but at the end of the day, your senior pictures should reflect who you are and what you love. Don't be afraid to get creative and have fun with the process. Incorporate your interests, hobbies, and personality into your photos. Bring a friend or two and be sure choose the outfits you’ll feel confident in. You’ll love the way your senior pictures turn out I promise! Le’t me take your senior pictures! Let’s chat today
