Senior Picture Idea
Senior Picture Idea in Denver, Colorado
Who doesn’t like the sunset? The cool weather, beautiful and breathtaking skies, a soft glow around everything. There is nothing not to like about the sunset. Which is why this is a shoutout to the sunset senior pictures out there. This is a shoutout to all the seniors who wanted to take the leap and take sunset senior pictures. this is also a shout out to people who aren’t sure if they want sunset senior pictures. By the end of the blog, you’ll definitely want to take sunset pictures. Trust me!

1. Timing is crucial: Obviously, when you get ready to take senior pictures, the timing is the most important piece. You have to be sure you time the pictures right or you’ll miss the sunset. Similar to golden hour, the perfect time for sunset pictures moves quickly. Be sure you  research the exact time of sunset for your location and plan your photo shoot accordingly.  I’d always say to have a snack available so when you get to the end of your photo shoot and you’re taking sunset pictures, you’re not cranky and hungry. Arrive early to scout the location and be sure to be in your outfit of choice.

2. Lighting considerations: The thing that draws people to sunset pictures is of course, the soft, warm light during the sunset. That specific lighting can create a magical effect. Pictures taken during the sunset often turn out perfectly and are honestly my favorite! Be open to whatever the sunset brings. Sometimes it’s warm and golden, other times it’s a beautiful pink and if you’re lucky, sometimes you can get a vibrant orange. Be open to any of these sunsets and be open to the creativity of your photographer. I’d opt for a soft neutral outfit to be sure it doesn’t clash with any sunset you get. Tell your photographer to have fun experimenting with different angles to capture the best lighting for your photos.

3. Reflective surfaces: The lighting during sunset is so unique and makes reflective surfaces like water or mirrors sparkle. Use that natural glitter to your advantage. The reflective surfaces not only bring a uniqueness to your pictures but it also brings so much beauty to your pictures.  Be sure you utilize these beautiful elements to enhance the composition and create captivating reflections. Trust me, if you want something glamorous but also natural and absolutely stunning… look for the natural glitter!
