I’d say most people choose to do their senior pictures during the summer before their senior year. There are many reasons this is a great idea- timing and weather being the two top reason. There is a cut off of when your senior pictures are due to get into the school yearbook and summer time brings a wealth of warmth and beautiful daylight. HOWEVER… I have to take the time in this blog to celebrate sweater weather! We are right on the cusp of fall here in Colorado and with fall comes beautiful leaves, cooler weather, oversized sweaters and perfect senior pictures. Don’t wait too long though… we still want these beautiful pictures in the year book! I’d say the absolute latest you can get your session done is at least 2.5 weeks before your pictures are due. But with fall pictures, comes later sessions. We tend to fill our senior spots by July so be sure you call in May to get booked. But, let’s just take this moment and really get some fall senior picture inspiration! For those of you who want pictures taken around this time to have the perfect autumn photo shoot this is the perfect blog for you. I love fall in Colorado because you always have such a rich blend of colors in the landscape but you also could use a variety of colors in your wardrobe. We still have beautiful greens and browns in the background but there are pops of reds, yellows and orange. The fall landscapes gives you an edgier, and yet softer look that you can really play well with when it comes to clothing. I personally love the jeans, neutral top and oversized sweater look but in this season, there is no reason you can’t wear pops of red with a bold pattern. I love the rough textures in the sweaters for fall photo shoots but the soft material against the rough foliage is also such a beautiful combination. Here is one of my favorite aspects of fall senior pictures… the classic leather jacket! Whether it’s a beautiful soft brown, black or even a deep red… match it up with a cute pair of jeans and a white top underneath… there you have it. The perfect fall outfit for a cool and beautiful Colorado senior photo shoot. In the dead of summer, a leather jacket would be adorable, but may be a little hot. The perk of doing your senior pictures in the fall is you can wear something like this and not even break a sweat! Now ladies, listen. Living in Colorado can sometimes bring funky weather. It can be a beautiful warm July day then at noon, out of no where we could have a huge rainstorm. The fall is no different. Mid October can bring 80 degrees or 3 feet of snow. So let’s talk about snow… some of you may think of the snow and freak out. Others of you might think snow is the best thing that could happen. No matter what side of the coin you’re on, let me be the person to ease some of your worry. Snow shoots are so fun, and unique and I’m definitely up for a little trudge through the snow to make your day perfect. If you’re up for it, you will definitely get senior pictures that are totally different than what most people have. Just think about how memorable your picture would be if you had a snowy backdrop. Layer up in your favorite jackets, scarves and boots. Bring a sled and let’s go have a fantastic day!
So what do you think?? Convinced on fall senior pictures? I couldn’t be more convinced so let’s do it! Remember, to give me at least 2.5 weeks before your school’s yearbook deadline to get your pictures done but… I book out for senior pictures in May and I only take the first 30 spots yearly. By July the spots are definitely taken. So be sure to be proactive and schedule early. I want to do your beautiful fall senior pictures so reach out now! Fall shoots are so special and so unique. They give you so much opportunity for fun outfits, beautiful scenery and of course, sometimes in Colorado even bring you a little gift of snow. Let’s get you scheduled as soon as possible!!
