When Chris' cousin asked Amber to play the violin at their wedding in August of 2013, Amber had no idea she was about to meet her future husband. Fast forward one year later to the summer of 2014 when Amber and Chris' took their first vacation together in Colorado. They had driven from their home town of Overland Park, KS through Colorado, stopping at various landmarks and scenic mountain overlooks. But when they got to Estes Park, Amber could tell Chris was nervous, but didn't know why until he dropped down onto one knee and asked her to be his wife. Amber and Chris decided to go back to the place where Chris proposed for their engagement shoot. Amber had said she wanted snow for their shoot, but didn't know if her wish would be granted for the one day they were in Estes Park, Colorado. To her surprise, she woke up to snow on the ground and light flakes falling from the sky! I must admit, Rocky Mountain National Park is beautiful when it snows. It is easy to see how in love Amber and Chris are. It was hard to get a shot where they weren't kissing! Maybe it was the Colorado mountain air that was making them so giggly and flirty... Congratulations on a gorgeous engagement, Amber and Chris! I am so excited to photograph your wedding in June at the Black Canyon Inn in Estes Park, it is going to be beautiful - just like the two of you!
Love, Sarah

We could not have picked a more perfect day in February to do this styled shoot. It was warm and sunny with just a slight breeze to play with the ribbons tying Sarah's diamond floral headband. Sarah looked stunning in Lillian West's tiered lace and tulle wedding gown which was complimented perfectly by her bouquet of pink and purple. Angel made a handsome frame for Sarah and together they were perfection! This styled shoot has been a long time in the making, so I would like to thank all of the vendors involved in making this gorgeous shoot happen! Love, Sarah Carolyn and Mathias' story begins at one of the most adorable places to meet your future significant other, the bowling alley. They both arrived with separate groups of friends, trying to snag an empty lane in the overly crowded bowling alley. Carolyn decided to sit out and watch her friends bowl since there was very little room on the lane for her entire group. As she scanned the crowded bowling alley, her eyes caught a glimpse of a very handsome man a few lanes down. Mathias' eyes met hers and she quickly looked away only to look back to see he was still looking at her. She continued to give Mathias quick glances throughout the night and every time Mathias was looking her way too. She couldn't help but smile to herself. She could tell he was shy, so Carolyn decided to saunter past Mathias on the way to the bathroom, giving him the opportunity to say hello. But he was still too shy and even as she left the bathroom, Mathias couldn't get up the courage to introduce himself to this brunette beauty. So Carolyn decided to introduce herself. She asked him all kinds of questions, trying to get him to open up, but all she got was one word answers. So she walked backed to her friends, slightly disheartened, wondering why Mathias was so shy and wishing he had asked for her phone number. After a while a woman came up to Carolyn and told her that Mathias liked her but was too shy to ask for her phone number, so the woman gave Carolyn his number instead. Carolyn thought this was very flattering, but she still wanted Mathias to have the confidence to ask for her phone number himself. As the night came to an end and Carolyn was saying goodbye to her friends, Mathias finally settled his nerves enough to ask her for her phone number. He invited her to a party later that week and awkwardly made that the excuse for needing her phone number. Later she found out that Mathias made up the entire story about the party... he just needed a reason to get her number. It turns out that asking for the brunette beauty's phone number in the bowling alley was the best decision Mathias ever made, surpassed only by the decision to ask Carolyn to marry him. Mathias proposed to Carolyn near a cliff in Ireland. Carolyn was so surprised, she made Mathias pinch her because she couldn't tell if she was dreaming or not. Carolyn and Mathias' engagement session first took us to Red Rocks Park in Morrison, CO. Getting its name from the color of the sandstone, Red Rocks provided the perfect backdrop for our adorable couple. Our next location was the Evergreen Lake House in Evergreen, CO. This beautiful location gave us perfectly untouched snow to play in! Carolyn and Mathias, your love for each other is very inspiring to me. You love each other wholly and unconditionally and aren't afraid to show the world! You engagement session was beautiful and I can't wait until your wedding in September!
Love, Sarah
